Isle of Arran, Scotland

The Isle of Arran offers spectacular scenery, rugged mountains, historical sites, an abundance of activities, amazing golf and all packaged with our own family hospitality. The island is only a short ferry ride from the Ayrshire coast and there is a regular service.

Staying at the Lamlash Bay Hotel allows you to enjoy the tranquility the Isle of Arran offers with its beautiful coastline and beaches, country walks and pretty villages. Arran is a unique island as is known as
“Scotland in Miniature” and wouldn’t be complete without its own whisky. So why not take a visit to the distillery
of “The Arran Malt”, which was voted Scottish Distiller of the Year 2007.

Golf on Arran

Arran is a great destination for a golf break or a golfing holiday. For the size of the island, there are seven golf courses on Arran, and all offering great views but different challenges although they are all fun to play. There are three 18 hole courses, one twelve (yes 12) hole course and three 9 hole courses. All the courses were established in the late 1800’s but one is a fairly recent addition in 1988, and one of the 18 hole courses is only a very short drive from the hotel. The courses are not huge in length which gives it their appeal, but don’t be complacent, you wont shoot too many sub-pars here!!
